President Donald Trump’s moods and temperament are a hot topic for
journalists, lawmakers and academics. In fact, earlier this year, a
psychiatrist from Yale University actually briefed Democratic
lawmakers on president’s mental state, which she called
“dangerous.” The analysis, by Dr. Bandy Lee and others, received
criticism given that she and others haven’t actually examined
President Trump. She joins the podcast this week to explain her
position, which is described in her book, “The Dangerous Case of
Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a
President.” Lee is an internationally recognized expert on
violence. Trained in medicine and psychiatry at Yale and Harvard
Universities, and in medical anthropology as a fellow of the
National Institute of Mental Health, she is currently on the
faculty of Yale School of Medicine’s Law and Psychiatry
Division.
